Say what you like about Taylor Swift – and, yes, we have a lot to say – she knows what works in her off-duty wardrobe. In her downtime her go-to look is more girl-next-door than international pop starlet, ultra-feminine and polished with the occasional grungy piece thrown in for good measure – but she never looks scruffy. Super short shorts, cropped tops and flippy dresses are her staples, more often than not paired with a great pair of ankle boots and a ladlike bag. She has a knack for looking great but reᴀssuringly normal. And isn’t that why we like her?

House Republicans from both sides of the conference came to a deal on a short-term government funding bill this weekend. The effort was led by GOP Reps. Dusty Johnson, House Freedom Caucus chair Scott Perry, Stephanie Bice, Chip Roy and Kelly Armstrong. The deal includes a one-month continuing resolution, funding the government through Oct. 31. It also includes an 8% funding cut to domestic agencies except for Veteran Affairs and the Pentagon. It has been a pretty disastrous weekend for Manchester United. An agonising late defeat away at Arsenal, Jadon Sancho's angry social media response to Erik ten Hag and Antony's omission from the Brazil national team squad after allegations of domestic abuse. To take things from bad to worse, United's stock price plummeted on 5 September amid continued uncertainty over the club's future. A summer that promised a takeover at Old Trafford has underwhelmed supporters with the unanimously hated Glazers having not left the club. Despite bids coming in, the Glazers refused to part ways, with reports now suggesting United have been taken off the market altogether.
